IT’S BEEN ALREADY ONE YEAR FOR THE GREEK MUNICIPALITY OF ARGOS IN USING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY IN ITS EVERYDAY SERVICES TO CITIZENS

The Greek Municipality of Argos-Mycenae became, last June, the first Greek municipality and one of the first in European level to use Blockchain technology in its administrative structures aiming to serve more efficiently, more transparently and more quickly its citizens.

This specific application created and implemented by Blockchain2050BV and based on LTO network infrastructure, is expected to lead to a series of innovative and efficient services to citizens, by ensuring the inviolability of a series of documents issued and certified by municipals services, such us all kinds of verified certificates (birth, wedding), any kind of financial transactions receipts and verified design drawings for house, plots or project.

In this way, time consuming and costly procedures are avoided, as it is an interactive platform for electronic signature and document authentication with Blockchain technology. In addition, it is the safest, reliable, fastest and eco-friendly way, with the least possible participation of the citizen and the public service, while the possibility of errors is being decreased to the minimum possible level.

Last, but not least, we believe that the entry of the pioneering Greek Municipality of Argos-Mycenaein Blockchain technology, will show the path of technological development of new systems to other Municipalities and public bodies.
